About the Role
As an SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to help them engage with learning, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential. Every day is different, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on a young person's educational journey.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting students with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Supporting classroom teachers to create an inclusive learning environment
- Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
- Following safeguarding and behaviour management procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults is desirable
- A patient, caring and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Access to a vehicle and a valid driving licence is essential
- Team Teach or behaviour management training is advantageous but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
