Property Finder is the leading property portal in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, dedicated to shaping an inclusive future for real estate while spearheading the region’s growing tech ecosystem. At its core is a clear and powerful purpose: To change living for good in the region.

Founded on the value of great ambitions, Property Finder connects millions of property seekers with thousands of real estate professionals every day. The platform offers a seamless and enriching experience, empowering both buyers and renters to make informed decisions. Since its inception in 2007, Property Finder has evolved into a trusted partner for developers, brokers, and home seekers. As a lighthouse tech company, it continues to create an environment where people can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the transformation of real estate in MENA.

About the Role

We're looking for a Software Engineering Trainee to join the engineering team building the region's leading property marketplace. You'll work on real problems for millions of buyers, renters and agents: our Next.js web experience, the services behind it, and the AI agents and automated workflows we're building with LLMs.

This program is for people who love solving problems. We care less about what you already know and more about how you think: how you break down an unclear problem, the questions you ask, and how quickly you learn. Experienced engineers will mentor you and review your work.

What You'll Do

  • Take unclear problems, break them down, and work with your mentor to scope a solution you can ship

  • Build features and prototypes across our React/Next.js frontend and TypeScript (Node.js) backend, with guidance and code review from experienced engineers

  • Build AI agents and automated workflows on top of LLMs, both for product features and to automate the team's own work, including prompts, tool calling and checking the quality of what the agents produce

  • Dig into data to understand how customers use what we build, and use it to back up your recommendations

  • Present your work and your reasoning to engineers, product managers and designers

  • Ask questions, learn how a large-scale marketplace works, and share what you learn with the team

What We're Looking For

Required
  • A student or recent graduate in a STEM field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics

  • Strong problem-solving and structured thinking: you can break a messy problem into clear parts, form hypotheses and test them

  • You ask the right questions and make sure you understand the problem before jumping to a solution

  • A proven ability to learn new things quickly, shown through projects, coursework, competitions or work experience

  • Hands-on experience with LLMs. For example, you've built a project on an LLM API (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, AWS Bedrock or similar), worked with prompts, tool calling or retrieval (RAG), or used AI coding assistants in your day-to-day work

  • Some programming experience in at least one language

  • Good written and spoken English

Nice to have
  • A big plus: taking part in corporate case competitions

  • Experience with our tech stack: TypeScript/JavaScript, React and Next.js, Node.js or Go

  • Familiarity with databases or search (SQL, Redis, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch), or with cloud platforms such as AWS

  • Hackathons, competitive programming, or personal projects you can show us (for example on GitHub)

How You Work
  • You're curious: you want to understand why, not just how

  • You think in structure: you frame the problem, lay out the options and explain your reasoning clearly

  • You ask questions early and you're comfortable saying "I don't know yet"

  • You learn from feedback and apply it quickly

  • You take ownership of your tasks and see them through

What Success Looks Like

By the end of the program, you'll have shipped real work to production or delivered a working prototype that solves a real problem. You'll have presented it to the team with clear reasoning and data, and grown noticeably as an engineer.
