Protocol Education is working with a specialist SEND school in Gateshead that is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This role is ideal if you're considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, SEND, Teaching, Child Development, Mental Health or another people-focused profession.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning
• Support children with additional and complex needs
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Build trusting relationships with pupils
• Support communication, social skills and independence
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and classroom activities
• Use your understanding of psychology and child development in practice
• Work closely with teachers and SEND support staff
• Help create a positive, calm and supportive learning environment
