Some children don't need someone to have all the answers. They need someone who understands them, recognises their challenges, and helps them believe in what they're capable of achieving.
Protocol Education is looking for compassionate, resilient and dedicated SEN & SEMH Support Educators to work full-time across a range of welcoming primary schools throughout Bristol.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, ADHD, attachment needs, trauma backgrounds, or behavioural challenges.
No two days are the same. You'll have the opportunity to work with a variety of children, schools and support teams, making a genuine difference wherever you're placed.
The Role
As an SEN & SEMH Support Educator, you'll provide tailored support to pupils who require additional guidance to access learning, regulate emotions, build confidence and engage positively within the classroom environment.
You may work on a 1:1 basis, support small intervention groups, or provide wider classroom support depending on the needs of each school.
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams, you'll play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both academically and socially.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including SEMH, Autism and ADHD.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children who may struggle with engagement or emotional regulation.
- Encouraging participation, independence and confidence in learning.
- Managing challenging behaviour using positive and restorative approaches.
- Supporting children through transitions and changes to routine.
- Delivering interventions and small-group support when required.
- Working alongside teachers and support staff to implement individual learning and behaviour plans.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for every child.
- Recording observations and contributing to pupil progress reviews.
About You
We're looking for people who are:
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people.
- Experienced working with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Calm, patient and able to build strong professional relationships.
- Confident managing challenging situations in a positive and consistent manner.
- Adaptable and comfortable working across different school settings.
- Proactive, resilient and solution-focused.
- Strong communicators who work effectively as part of a wider team.
