Section Engineer

Summary 

A major Tier 1 infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join their team to play a part in delivering the landmark Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based in Redcar. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK's most ambitious decarbonisation initiatives, helping to shape the future of sustainable infrastructure.

As a Section Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across your designated work area, supporting the successful delivery of the project from planning through to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

-    Managing engineering activities across your allocated section of works.
-    Leading and mentoring Site Engineers and supporting the wider delivery team.
-    Ensuring works are carried out safely, in accordance with Balfour Beatty's Zero Harm principles.
-    Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information to ensure buildability and compliance.
-    Managing setting out activities and ensuring dimensional accuracy.
-    Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs and other engineering documentation.
-    Managing quality assurance processes and ensuring works meet contractual requirements.
-    Coordinating subcontractors, designers and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.

To be suitable for this role you will have the following:

-    Previous experience as a Section Engineer on large civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
-    A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
-    Strong setting out and engineering management experience.
-    Excellent knowledge of quality assurance and construction methodologies.
-    Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
-    Strong communication and leadership skills.
-    A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
-    CSCS card (essential).
-    SMSTS and Temporary Works experience would be advantageous.

Salary of circa: £48,000 per annum plus package including:
