Protocol Education are recruiting Sports Teaching Assistants for schools across South Shields.

This is a great opportunity for someone who naturally connects with young people and can use their passion for sport to encourage engagement, teamwork and positive behaviour.

You could come from a background in football, rugby, boxing, basketball, athletics, swimming, martial arts, fitness or PE.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils across the school day
• Assisting in lessons and activities
• Supporting PE and physical activity
• Working 1:1 and in small groups
• Encouraging participation and engagement
• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
• Building positive relationships
• Helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour
• Encouraging teamwork and communication
• Supporting confidence and resilience
• Being a consistent and positive role model

Previous school experience is advantageous but not essential.

DBS & Start Date

We're recruiting for immediate starts.

If you already have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, this is advantageous.

If you don't currently hold one, you can still apply, but you will need to be able to apply for an Enhanced DBS immediately and complete the necessary safeguarding checks.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
