Protocol Education is working with welcoming primary schools in Paulton, Radstock and Clutton that are looking for a dedicated and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their teams as soon as possible.

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives on supporting children both academically and emotionally. You'll play a key part in the day-to-day life of the school, from leading learning activities and interventions to providing classroom cover and helping pupils build confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Whether you're supporting small groups, delivering planned lessons, or helping children overcome barriers to learning, you'll make a genuine difference every single day.

Location: Paulton, Radstock & Clutton
Pay: £95 - £110 per day, paid weekly

The Role

As an HLTA, you could be:

Delivering planned lessons and classroom cover

Leading intervention groups to support pupil progress

Supporting children with SEND and additional learning needs

Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and resilience

✏️ Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences

Providing targeted support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2

We'd Love to Hear From You If You...

✔️ Hold an HLTA qualification or have significant experience working at HLTA level

✔️ Have experience supporting children within a primary school setting

✔️ Are confident leading learning and covering classes when required

✔️ Have strong behaviour management and communication skills

✔️ Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff

✔️ Are adaptable, proactive and passionate about education

✔️ Have a nurturing and positive approach to supporting children

What We Need to Clear You

To meet safeguarding requirements, we'll need:

✅ Passport or proof of right to work in the UK

✅ Two proofs of address

✅ A CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained

✅ References covering the previous two years, including childcare references where applicable

✅ An overseas police check if you've lived abroad for three months or more in the past five years
