Are you a passionate English specialist looking to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people?

We are working with a specialist SEMH school in Harlow that is seeking a dedicated and resilient English Intervention Teacher to join their team immediately.

The school supports pupils with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and follows a trauma-informed approach, recognising that many students have experienced adverse childhood experiences, attachment difficulties, anxiety, and significant barriers to education. The school is committed to building positive relationships and helping pupils re-engage with learning in a supportive and structured environment.

As an English Intervention Teacher, you will deliver targeted English and literacy interventions, helping students develop confidence in reading, writing, communication, and functional literacy skills. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to identify learning gaps, raise attainment, and support pupils both academically and emotionally.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching English and delivering targeted interventions
  • Be confident supporting pupils with SEMH needs
  • Have strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Be patient, resilient, and adaptable
  • Have a genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team and make a lasting impact on students who need consistency, encouragement, and positive role models.

If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can help young people rebuild their confidence and achieve success in English, we'd love to hear from you.
